Extensive Vegetated Roofing System Assembly and Design

On Tuesday, March 17, at 6:00pm, BEC-Baltimore will meet at Morgan State University, where Ken McGowan, Tremco’s Market Manager of Green Roofing will present information on essential design and evaluation techniques for high performance vegetated roofing systems.

This complimentary education seminar will start at 6:00pm with some light refreshments and networking, the program will begin at 6:30.

The learning objectives will be presented by Mr. McGowan:

  • Green (vegetated) roofing– critical design considerations, including economic and environmental impacts
  • Understand the typical components, their use and importance to the entire system
  • Recognize the impact of combining roof membrane systems and vegetated roof components that relate to installation and maintenance efficiencies, and positive life cycle cost outcomes
  • Learn evaluation techniques to use in decision making of system components leading to efficiency, sustainability, and execution of performance criteria

Ken McGowan manages all sales support for Tremco’s Vegetated Roof Program throughout North America. Ken’s vast experience in contracting and troubleshooting green roof installations has positioned him as a foremost expert in the industry. Ken has been involved in some iconic green roof projects and his experience in guiding complex installations, from specifications to installation and inspection procedures allows him to offer valuable insights into what works and what doesn’t. Ken believes the choice of green roof system should fit the goals of a project and is a stickler for proper detailing to ensure high quality, lasting installations. Ken believes without proper execution the vision is lost.
